Project:

Arts 'n' Crafts Patio

This project was certainly very different and not something you see every day.

The property is a grade 2 listed Mill- House in Little Chart on the outskirts of Ashford, Kent. The brief was that the client wanted something that would reflect the character charm and history of the property, but not just a standard patio. We started with an old reclaimed mill stone and built it out from there. We used old kent peg tiles influenced of Great Dixter House and gardens, 20 mins away, and of a similar period. All the bricks where on site due to renovations going on at the house at the same time so this helped preserve the history of the site as well.

The oldest part of the house (17th century) is partially built from rag-stone, so we also incorporated this material into the design.
